Save Money on Energy Costs

April 13th, 2010

The Province of Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia Power both have rebate programs in place to assist Nova Scotians who make changes to their homes which meet the standards of the programs. Although on March 31 the Federal Government announced that Natural Resources Canada would no longer accept registrations for ecoEnergy Retrofit-Homes Program initial assessments, energy rebates are still available from the Province and NSP.

How much money is it possible to receive?

There are rebates of up to $1,500 available from Conserve Nova Scotia and in excess of $2,000 from Nova Scotia Power for homeowners making changes meeting the standards of the program.

How do I access these programs?

In Western Nova Scotia, you can arrange an EnerGuide audit for existing homes by contacting the Clean Annapolis River Project at 1-888-547-4344. CARP partners with Clean Nova Scotia in the delivery of this program.

What is the cost of the program?

The cost to the homeowner for the EnerGuide audit and reports remains $150. (No HST as CARP is a registered charity.)
