About the Annapolis River Watershed
A watershed is the entire region from which rainfall and snowmelt drains into a single water body.

The Annapolis River Watershed
Two thousand square kilometres of community, environmental treasures, businesses, agriculture, schools, natural resources, recreational opportunities and vibrant Maritime culture constitute the Annapolis River watershed. Our watershed is the third largest in the province running from Caribou Bog outside of Aylesford down to Digby.

Three international groups that highlight the importance of environment, economy, culture and history recognize our watershed. These are:

UNESCO Southwest Nova Biosphere Reserve

The Gulf of Maine Watershed

The Acadian Forest Region
