Join us for an introductory "classroom" session that will cover all the basics of being a visual survey volunteer.

About the event
This "classroom" session will cover the basics for new volunteers including:
- Visual survey protocol
- How to complete data cards
- How to ID wood turtles
- Suitable habitat identification
Copies of print resources will be available. No experience is needed. Youth are welcome; children under the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult.
An optional field survey will follow if the weather permits (10°C+ and not too rainy). There will be a short lunch break between. Participants must bring their own lunch. For the field session tall, waterproof boots are recommended as we will be working in wet, muddy areas of habitat. Hip or chest waders are also a good option is you have a pair.
